KUCCPS opens portal for KMTC and TVET applications

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its application portal for 21 days to allow the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates to apply for placement at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges of their choice.
In a historic first, the Placement Service will adopt a phased application process, beginning with KMTC and TVET colleges before proceeding to Universities and Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs).
In the first phase, the application portal will close on February 14, 2025.
“Universities and Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) normally have their intakes later in the year while KMTC and TVETs admit theirs in January, March and May, hence the need to have a phased application process to enable students to transition to colleges promptly,” KUCCPS CEO Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome stated.
Form Four leavers who sat their KCSE examination from the year 2000 to 2024 will also have an opportunity to apply for the KMTC and TVET courses using their improved grades to be eligible for the September intake.
Dr. Wahome noted that over 260 TVET institutions including university TVET institutes, national polytechnics and other TVET institutions under the Ministry of Education will be available for application.
